Google in Mountain View is seeking a NVH Engineer / Engineering Technician responsible for the setup and performance of acoustics, noise and vibration tests utilizing modern test equipment and by subjective listening. This individual will also be responsible for troubleshooting test setups, documenting and reporting test results, interfacing with other cross-functional team members. Additionally, reworking of electronic devices may be required to support failure analysis and debugging.
Responsibilities included but are not limited to:
– Data collection utilizing standard or specialized test control systems, signal conditionals, and instrumentation
– Analysis and verification of test setups, test levels and requirements
– Documenting test procedures and generating test reports
– Assisting with trouble shooting and root cause analysis
– Subjective listening
Required Education/Skills/Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
– 2+ years of experience in Acoustics, Audio or NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness)
– Ability to use various electronics (i.e. volt meter, oscilloscope) instruments and data acquisition systems
– Ability to design / engineer customized test setups
– Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
(Not required) Desired Experience / Skills:
– Soldering and rework experience
– Good hearing
– Programing skills (Python, Matlab, etc)
