The Vox Media Podcast Network is one of the largest and fastest-growing collections of high-quality podcasts. With more than 175 active shows from Vox Media’s editorial networks and beyond, there is a show to feed every passion — from daily news and policy, to tech and business, to culture and sports.
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Producer who is excited about working across a roster of dynamic shows and talent, delivering exceptional narrative storytelling alongside vital interviews and conversations.
What you’ll do
You’ll work closely with existing and emerging talent on their podcast concepts, collaborating on new show development and piloting. For green-lighted podcasts, you’ll oversee production/rollout plans, staffing and budgets. And you’ll be closely involved with select podcasts as the supervising producer: generating topics, booking guests and leading segment/script development, sound design, and editing. You may also be involved as a lead producer on existing franchises: contributing tape-gathering, editing, and project management support to help evolve formats and grow audiences.
What you’ll bring
- Experience vetting show pitches and guiding the program development process
- Experience as the editorial/creative lead for a successful podcast or broadcast program
- A portfolio that demonstrates an ear for great tape and inventive approaches to audio storytelling
- Experience scripting or editing compelling, character-driven stories or narrative podcasts
- Comfort working on deadline/breaking news turnaround show production and publishing
- A track record of developing stories that draw on diverse perspectives/source lists
- Strong collaborative skills, as well as the ability to delegate and prioritize effectively
- Proficiency in audio mixing
