Member Feature: Michelle Barry

Michelle Barry, a WAM Member located in Australia and a professional sound engineer working in Sydney, London, and New York, will be featured on an audio panel at Entech Connect, Australia’s Entertainment Technology and Installation Show for Pro Audio, Audio Visual, Lighting, Integration and Staging. The panel, entitled “Sound Engineers Question Time” will feature a number of professional sound engineers answering questions on their best and worst days on the job, noise control, microphones, digital consoles, and how to get started in the industry.

Michelle Barry is a professional sound engineer with over 17 years experience working in studios in Sydney, London and New York. Starting at Paradise Studio, Sydney in 1990, she has since worked in studios such as Trackdown, Sony Music Studios, Alberts, ABC Radio, Marcus Studio – London and Times Square Recording, Cowboy Technical Services, Sear Sound – NYC and had the opportunity to learn along the way from amazing producers such as Dave Steward, Youth, Wayne Connolly, Mike Stavro, Roger Greenawalt, Rob Mathes, Russell Simins. She has worked with diverse artists such as established Australian Jazz players Dale Barlow and Sydney All Star Big Band, 80s legend Iva Davies, The Sydney Opera Company, Steve Clisby, Robyne Dunn, US independent artists Jessie Murphy In the Woods, the Alan Cohen Experience, The Pierces and Sydney Hip Hop artists Maya Jupiter, Ebony Williams and UK funk/RnB Junior, G-Nation.
